Scientists from the UK investigated the concentration and metabolism of folic acid in the body of 602 women before IVF. It was found that young women with a high concentration of folic acid after transferring of 2 embryos usually born twins, and the high content of folic acid in the blood did not increase the chance of pregnancy after IVF. The researchers suggest that the decrease in consumption of folic acid to the recommended daily requirement will reduce the frequency of multiple pregnancies after IVF. (The Lancet)
